We wanted to get the kids outside and do something together as a family. It's hard going around here because there are bare patches of ground in some places and two feet of snow in others.....so we decided to trap beavers under the ice near our house. The kids were troopers...the first day we walked from our house and back and they played in the mud for three hours in the rain while Lance and I chopped holes in the ice and decided where to put the traps. The second day we came back to check and had caught one....the third day we caught one more and then we pulled the traps. We didn't want to take all the beavers out of this lodge......The kids enjoyed carrying the beavers and watching Lance skin them. We will either sell the fur our use it for mittens, hats or mukluks.....
