Yesterday was the big Branding Day with Lance's sisters' cattle. My job was to push the calves through the shute. They are fast little boogers! and strong! Amelia and Reid took turns being the gate keeper. When they were ready for the next calf they would open the door and we would push one through.

A good general view of the scene on Branding day. Here in the shute, the calves get their brand and vaccinations. If they are a male, they become less of one on this day. :) That makes them a Steer. It can be quite intimidating pushing these calves through the shute. They can kick hard so you have to get right behind them so they can't get the momentum to reach you.

One of our favorite things to do in Idaho this time of year is help Lance's sister brand their calves. I'm not sure if we are much help but it is fun to be around for this event anyway!! :) We did fall calves the other day so they are much bigger than the ones that have just been born. Here they are heating up the brands which fascinates the kids!

Here is Michael with the first cow to have his brand on it. This is his very own brand!

We push the cows through the shute and contain them to give shots, brand and worm, etc....

This is the kids with Lance's uncle Rex and Aunt Vera. Rex is 94 years old and they are still farming! They are amazing people! We have been hunting arrowheads in their fields with success.

This is Troy's daughter Katrina in the background and Reid blowing bubbles with her son Bronson. It is so cool to see the kids having so much fun playing with their cousins!

A very fun Easter Day....it was about 70 degrees. The kids got to wear Easter clothes without snowsuits and mud boots over them! :) The kids had quite a few egg hunts. Gramps and I went to sunrise service and then we all went to church later in the morning. Good times!

What another fun day! went to visit Lance's Uncle Nelbert who has taken me in as part of the family. (I"m actually closer to him than Lance is :) He took us to a cattle auction, out to lunch for Mexican (cooked by real Mexican's!!!) and to see the sheep farm. I am so in love with sheep! However, I am going to refrain this year..... here the kids got to pose with his newly painted Thunderbird!!
