Our Friend Brenda (who is about as crazy about animals as we are!) ordered chicks with us and we got them in the mail today.....from Missouri!!! 45 baby chicks are quite noisy. We got 10 black australorp egg layers, 2 roosters and 13 cornish cross roasters! the farm is continuing to grow......you can see the excitement on Amelia's face! she's thinking of all those eggs we are going to be collecting!!!

We finally made it out to Valdez Creek to surprise Grampa and camp with him for the night. It was lots of fun. Riding the 4wheeler across the creek, panning for gold and fishing. Gramps camp is quite the place! We hope to go out several times this summer and hang out with him. Three generations of handsome men! but lots of trouble!

We are having so much fun with these lambs! the ewe starts to bawl every morning and quits when we pasture her out in the grass. she loves that fresh grass and it cuts down on my food bill for her. unfortunately the little lambs are getting out of control and were eating my flowers so now we have to tie them up too! they are so funny with Piper. they try to head butt her and get her to play...she just turns in disgust!!!

Amelia's classroom in kindergarten raised these chicks and then we got them at the end of the school year. they are getting big and hopefully will one day lay eggs for us. Rachel loves to chase them around and pick them up when she comes over. I'm surprised Reid hasn't given them heart attachs yet! we are due to get 25 more in the mail on monday...more pictures to come of those!

We had a visit from a friend from Idaho who is working as a backcountry guide up here. Randy brought us fresh salmon and in exchange, Amelia gave him goldpanning lessons in our creek! we always enjoy sharing our place with friends.

The foundation of the hangar has been poured!! you can see the airplane off to the left of the photo...one day (hopefully by this winter) It will be parked under the roof of the hangar! and then one day...many years later...we will be in a house on the hill above watching from the deck as Lance lands and parks.
